Ore. officer shot multiple times applied tourniquet to herself

SALEM, Ore. — Dispatch audio captured the moment a shot and wounded Oregon officer administered aid to herself while waiting for paramedics to arrive.

Officer Michelle Pratt was shot three times on May 13 after suspect Jaime Jimenez opened fire during a traffic stop, local news station KGW8 reported. Jimenez fled the scene, but was later arrested.

Pratt, a seven-year veteran with her department, was able to apply a tourniquet on her leg while waiting for EMS. She was also shot in the arm and in her ballistic vest.

The officer is now recovering from her injuries at home.

Jimenez faces charges including attempted aggravated murder and being held on a $200,000 bail.
