Bail reform is “Lit” in New York City according to longtime criminal Charles Barry.
He’s been arrested 139 times and he tells the New York Daily News that he can’t be stopped.
Walking out of a Manhattan Criminal Court early Saturday, Barry declared that he is famous.
“I’m famous! I take $200, $300 a day of your money, cracker! You can’t stop me!” Barry yelled to a Daily News reporter late Thursday night as police led him out of NYPD Transit District 1 headquarters in the Columbus Circle station.
NEW YORK SHERIFF CRITICAL OF BAIL REFORM AFTER SERIAL ROBBERY SUSPECT HITS AGAIN
Barry knows that while he was charged for crimes that included jumping the subway fare to robbing unsuspecting citizens of their cash as they tried to use the MetroCard machines, that nothing will ever happen to him.
“Bail reform, it’s lit!” Barry said. “It’s the Democrats! The Democrats know me and the Republicans fear me. You can’t touch me! I can’t be stopped!”
36 hours later when Barry was released from his latest crime, he was just as ecstatic.
“It’s a great thing. It’s a beautiful thing,” he said. “They punk’d people out for bulls–t crimes.”
Barry, 56, has served six different prison sentences and he has been arrested six times since New York’s bail reform law took effect just 6 weeks ago.
He has been released after every arrest in 2020 because his crimes did not involve violence.
Because after all, robbing subway passengers of their cash means nothing in the Big Apple!
Barry’s latest arrest was the 139th in his career. His criminal record includes six felonies, 87 misdemeanors, and 21 missed court hearings, records show.
