A study has found the best and worst states for police officers.
According to Wallethub, New York is the best state for police, ranking high in most law enforcement officers per capita, the highest median income growth for officers and the highest state and local police-protection expenses per capita.
The study found that Louisiana is the worst state for officers, ranking low on lowest median income for officers and highest violent crime rate.
Maryland, California, New Hampshire and Indiana all ranked high under New York, reaching top five spots, where Arkansas, Kentucky, New Mexico, Arizona and South Carolina ranked the lowest in the country.
Wallethub reviewed 27 key indicators to determine where the states rank, including police deaths per 1,000 officers and highest percentage of homicide cases solved.
