MENTOR RESOURCE PAGE

Being a good mentor is about being available, open and willing to share your experiences.  You have to know when you need help to assist the new constable to become an established reliable member of the Law Enforcement Community.   The goal is always to help the constable get on their feet.  That may mean you will learn more from them than they learn from you.  You are not their Field Training Officer, but your knowledge, skills and abilities will be vital to assist them.  Some new constables will know a great deal, others will need to learn vital skills such as Hand Cuffing; Protecting themselves and others and making good decisions.

Here are some tools to assist.
